Holy Smokes! I didn't imagine 100 posts when I started this blog, so I think this calls for a little party. If I was to do this in true Molly fashion I would be excited about the 111th post. But I like nice round numbers too (look out post #222!).
I would like to have a little giveaway, as a thanks to you guys, my readers.
The winner can choose. Either they can have a $10 giftcard to Mr. Yarn, or $10 of Ravelry pattern(s). If you aren't a knitter I think we can work something else out.
How can you win? You comment on this blog post before Wednesday January 30th at 5 PM EST, and I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. Anyone can enter, because I am emailing you the prize. The prompt is pretty simple. Include a link to the coolest thing you have made, and say why it is so awesome.
I have been busy with sweater knitting and spinning. I even got a little sock done too. Well, I got enough sock done to mention it here, basically these socks are only pulled out when I am watching a movie and the sweater needs something done on it that requires reading directions.
I am about 1/2 an inch from dropping a toe on that sock, and I am maybe 1/4 of the way through the second half of the merino silk braid. I am just starting to get to the more purple red.
I am magic looping a sleeve.Magic looping isn't that bad. Certainly better than whipping out the DPN's on moss stitch, and way better than working the sleeve tube flat. Because I finished a sweater body.
There is the majestic whip stitched side.
For some reason I could not for the life of my take a good picture of this sweater. It was either too dark or decapitated me or flashed in the mirror. These are the best I could do.
Hopefully I can pound out way more sleeve, because my deadline is the 31st.
I hope you also check out the other WIPW bloggers too.
That's all for now, take care guys.

aww what a lovely giveaway, I think I would prefer $10 of ravelry patterns as I'm international (ooh that sounds posh!!). your socks are super cute, have a knitty wednesday and congratulations on your 100th post!!
ReplyDeleteGood point, I totally forgot that many online yarn stores don't have international shipping.
DeletePosh is such an awesome word!

The best thing I ever created, is currently on my blog: my Little Man. :) http://www.angelfire212.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with that! :) Congrats on the 100th post!
Well, your pictures aren't so great of you, but they do show the sweater nicely! That's quite an awesome intricate pattern down the front :)
ReplyDeleteMy coolest project? Probably my Christmas snowball ornaments. Until I came up with them I was completely at a loss about what to do with leftover novelty yarn:)

Your post made me finally post about an awesome blanket I made for some friends a couple of years ago. It's a huge Sierpinski Carpet labor of love, and it's here: http://unfrogged.blogspot.com/ It is probably the most awesome blanket I've made, though this one might win depending on your criteria: http://unfrogged.blogspot.com/2011/11/blanket-of-awesome.html
ReplyDeleteThey are both very epic indeed! I am so happy I could be an inspiration, I seem to only be able to scrape together one post a week, but that is due to a lack of free and alone time.

Congrats on the 100th post!
ReplyDeleteI think the sweater looks fantastic! I'm eager to see it come together.
Congrats on ypur 100th post!
ReplyDeleteLovely projects.
Thank you!

Love magic loop!
ReplyDeleteI won't say love, but I can agree with useful, especially for this application.

The most awesome thing I've made so far would have to be the first pair of socks I made. I followed a free drops pattern with this awesome stranded color work that used black with a rainbow-colored yarn. They're super cozy and keep my feet work!
ReplyDeleteWow! That does sound awesome. I did colorwork first on hats before I moved on to socks and then sweaters. That is very impressive.

The best thing I've made is - my son! Haha! Seriously, I would have to say his birthday sweater. It actually fits him well. I made a couple of pairs of socks, a couple of sweaters for me, but his sweater has turned out the best. Congrats on the 100th post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura! I think a lot of parents feel that way too.

Especially that center panel of your sweater looks interesting. And with the cables on either side it really sets it off. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is the most complicated cable I have ever tried.
