Feeling a Little Wicked: WIP Wednesday

I joined the clog band wagon. Oddly, as one who took her first steps in wooden shoes, I find it amusing that I have returned to the clog look. When I was at the store I commented on the delft tiles they had on the counter, and the salesperson said it was a Dutch thing. I then put two and two together. I was just sick and tired of wearing uncomfortable dress shoes. Who decided that women's shoes should all kill my arches? These guys are fantastic, and show off my socks. Double win!

Elphaba is motoring right along. Each instruction is a little addicting. I want to get to the next part of the pattern, and well since this is a fingering weight sweater that is an investment in time.

 I'll be, ooo cast on.

Then it was how much longer until the neck line increases,

Oh, I'll just finish those, and then I can join in the round.

How much longer until I split for the sleeves? It'll go much faster after that.

For the record I am four rounds from splitting. I suspect that I will be done with that tomorrow. Spurred on by the prospect of horizontal bust darts.

I didn't manage to get a daylight shot of this yarn, so I can't show off how freaking amazing it is unfortunately. Claudia of Wollmeise really has something special in this colorway. There are overtones and undertones that I can't convince the camera to show. It doesn't help that my apartment is north facing. It is the shadow kingdom of darkness. The good news is that it is always cool and refreshing, since the sun cannot penetrate haha!

Evenstar is in a pile on the ground with my stash in exile. I opened the box of stash in exile, so now my knitting corner looks much more lived in than it did last week.

Evenstar sits there balefully, part way in a row, because I don't have a 8/0 beading tool. Whenever the USPS deems it appropriate to deliver the tool I will have to rent a movie to watch while I finish the shawl.

Department of Stashquistions

I did get something very useful in the mail. I decided to get the 4 cables that were missing from my janky Ebay ChiaoGoo needle set, and I also got the super duper long 75cm cords too. I am bummed that for the 5 bucks that got saved, it was basically over 20 bucks in missing stuff. Buyer beware. I feel like a real doofus. I got the cables from my trusted and super fast shipper Grandma's Handknitting.

Now I have a super easy way to try on my sweater once it reaches critical mass. It was really easy to transfer on the 22 cm cable, for the two super short ones I had joined. It is nice to not have the cable connectors in the middle. Now finally I can use the right length cable for any project. Yay! I forsee much happy knitting in my future with these.

I think that is all for now. You should totally check out the other WIP Wednesday bloggers.

So my question for you guys is simple. When have you bought something that was less than you expected?

That's all for now, take care guys

  3. I'm liking all this blue business. I just joined the clog bandwagon this last week also.....which is to say that I realized wearing DK hand knit socks with clogs is the only way to go (someone had to point this out to me when I was at a loss as to how to wear my THICK socks!)

And guess what my favorite color is! Haha.
